The Colorado Plateau Field Institute is dedicated to providing high quality and comprehensive earth science and archeological educational experiences utilizing outdoor settings of the Colorado Plateau and adjacent regions of the Western Interior of the United States, providing and facilitating a forum and natural setting for scientific research in the earth sciences and archeology, providing continuing education experiences for professionals, teachers, and students of the earth sciences and archeology, and providing outdoor learning experiences and activities for citizens and educators living in or visiting the Colorado Plateau region of the Western Interior of the United States.
